Meet Coach Jen

Jen has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 16 years. For the past 12 years she has been employed by Hockessin Athletic Club where she works as a personal trainer and Running Coach. In 2011, Besten founded a local running club where she has had the priviledge of working with hundreds of runners to meet and exceed their goals.

Jenifer's running career started in high school where she was a four-sport athlete. Traveling though life, Besten found running to be a competetive sport through adulthood. Personally, she has competed in many half marathons and marathons - including qualifying for the Boston Marathon over 10 times.

Professionally, Jen has coaching credentials through USATF and is a certified POSE Method Running Technique and Training Specialist. Her Personal Training certification is through ISSA and she is a NASM Small Group Training Specialist and NASM Youth Exercise Specialist. She also has her TRX, HIIT, FMA, Gravity, Powerplate and METHOD CRA Certifications. Jen has her bachelors degree from East Stroudsburg University.
"I work closely with my athletes to develop an individualized plan. I believe runners must cross train and regularly perform sport specific exersices to be successful. My primary focus is working with individuals to develop a training plan that fits a lifestyle and gets results!"
